2023-02-11 A Prayer: Pass-through
O Lord, we long to be pass-through for Your goodness. Your decisions. Grant transparency such that we are servants, making our boast in You not ourselves, never competing on points of pride but hopeful that as You reign with goodness and decision, that we may reflect amber waves of grain, statesmanship, conversation between nebulous entities at such stage as this that today we find ourselves in.
Help the rolling waves and the inner battles over each of our constitutions, to be people audacious yet not contending against friend but rather ushering in a New Order called, sanctified, evocative of all we’ve grown up on, the patent workings of friendships and social settings, the near encounters with so many colors and ranges of experience, moral codes of love for the fellowship, for fairness, for just judgment and peace.
We pray simply to lose ourselves in the wonderful outworkings; we had given up and had despaired, but You gave us unto great use, second-hand but not second in love, a new life and purpose. So our simple sense of friendship, of encounter, is really able to be magnified unto principles or workings that affect others with change or authority or calling or dignity.
We pray all this in Your Name, Amen.
