2022-12-10 A Prayer: Anxiety

O Lord, grant us always near You to be assurance and calm to those we come alongside. Help us in the manic scenario, seeing all life as equal to that mania or that anxiety that haunts. See amidst anxiety we brace and pray, patient for the relief. See us await the spell that is surpassed, outwaited. See impossibility in the rear view mirror, as we come back to give thanks.

O Lord, see us as strange creations, and possessed of a few certainties in You, but at what pain and cost? Others see an imposition on their time, while we dwell in that sad certainty of gossip. So see us find a peer who is too close to You to hate, too caught up in each day and each hour, all therapy and solvent to the anxiety and desires. See You Jesus, by the world no cakewalk, and no general consensus towards Good, but Your pockets and prayer circles. Your getting up of a presentation wherein You are our advocate. Lord, they will not hear our testimony, but might hear if someone else were to say it.
