A Meditation on Pushing Forward

2023-05-16 A Meditation on Pushing Forward

“But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” (Eph 4:20–24 ESV)

To some, it is a football match. However faithful we can be to the Name, we dwell and push in all hours of time, towards a Recognition, an Acknowledgement, a Gospel. The invisible held plain and close to the heart, close to the waking thoughts, purposeful and intentional, we recall a Spirit of God close by and His angel ministering through all gifted, blessed, beloved hours.

For our hours are beloved; we have earned a Divine Ear for the humdrum and basic outlays of conscious life. The basic turns of fate as met and reacted to in our perch: we react, we observe, we cautiously allow, for deeds executed in Faith to match up and be our Divine contribution.

For we were languishing and even felt our tongue sealed, until it was recalled how generous and understanding our God is. Not hating us, even as we hate aspects of this life. Even as we idealize something on a grander scale. Even as we form thoughts of a higher brand of righteousness.

No, God is close to the real self. We are signed and sealed for a genuine insight into what drives us, and how He works for the mystical Person in each of us, patient and loving, longing and sincere, towards warp-speed simple facts: who and what we get up to.
