2023-06-07 A Prayer: Shape Us

O Lord, so mold us that we may fight the good fight without offending anyone; help us live this life not fearing tomorrow but knowing future rest, entrance into Your Kingdom.

Define us, so shape us, as temporarily to be sheltered even as we enter the fray, met with battles commensurate with our gifts and talents; help us to stay alert and unafraid of the testimony. Help us to learn and imitate. Help us to know what a magnet is Your Name, and therein to be those legitimate and proper in said Name. Help us cultivate a learning, tutored, servant mind. Help us in finding good fights. See how the days come and the days go, yet Today is somehow special. Each day, like today, nursing us with Mystery met, with Inspiration let forth, with that strange way the ideascape opens up at the right Word, the right prayer snatches lagging aspects of our thought life; all souls, all company at the ready, present and accounted for; the right society helps us to find the match, the wrestling with blithe status quo, the sense of self-worth, unapologetic for Your Name worn on our sleeves.

We pray all this in Your Name, Amen.
