2023-02-24 A Prayer: Freedom From Bondage

O Lord, You ask us to pursue You, but also You humble Yourself by pursuing us. It is a divine romance, and we are those who break up with sin, who break up with anything that causes harm to our persons or our souls or our picture of discipleship, Your disciples, Your followers, who hear and listen even as You forewarn that we can hear incorrectly. That You are of pure intention, simply to save souls, in unison with each other and alone; we seek that purity of engagement, after breaking up with all voices that tempt or equate passion with anything immoral or needy. We love You for Your blessings at the hands of Your cadre, the priests and speakers. Help us sally forth encouraged. Help us always remember to give the affection, our loving affection and simple mind game of passion of a spiritual sort, for You and for Yours. Help us to rest convicted, that we are too eager to be “right”, and that we owe You heavenly affection of a moral and upright brand. Help us no longer steal, but work with our hands (Eph 4:28). Help us bless Your heavenly family, as seen in our peers and acquaintances, even those of brief engagement. You are here. Help us be thankful and show forth our own predicament and passion for Your kind of truth, Your kind attention past, Your demonstrated love, in Your servants the preachers. Help us, for we are in heavenly care, attention, and freedom from all bondage.
