2023-02-02 A Prayer: Individual

O Lord, grant individual perspective; help us to see people each individually capable of attitude and response; see the personal testimony, the respect that You afford even the humble and shy, as beings to be converted and to have sharp reaction against a status quo, willingness to speak up, to have a chip on the shoulder called faith, to emerge from the milieu.

O Lord, grant individual strengths. Help us to see the person as You do, empowered and decision-making. Grant individual attention even amidst a tendency to group and aggregate. Help us in our own testimony to be subtle yet carry something big: faith in You. See that we respect all comers, and wonder at the mighty corporation composed of individual luminance. Make us striped with waves and hues of faith, personally reproaching sin and death, excited and empowered, capable and personally valued.

See each of us ironic because the plain living is tormented, but an attitudinal response saves. See us submit to great movements of Your Spirit and regard the individual’s paradoxical experience. All such paradox and hardship is pointing to a basic faith that we believe saves. So we languish, but create and etch a glimmering, personal, marvelous testimony to You. Save us, we pray, for much has gone awry.
